We are a Level 1 Cardiac Center with 1200+ heart cases/year. This position is 6:30am - 3:00pm full time with required on-call. We are seeking a capable Surgical Tech IV / Surg Tech / CVOR who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population. Implements and evaluates care of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures. Prioritizes and actively participates in procedure process and supplies for specialty group of patients. Identifies verbally or in writing unusual incidents during patient care procedures and identifies complex procedure problems related to patient reaction, symptoms, or changes in needs based on patient reactions. Determine the equipment, materials, and resources needed to meet the patient procedure plan. Keeps the peri-operative team abreast of the procedure needs and progress. Active membership in professional organization. Assists with planning and conducting department orientation of new staff and students. Serves as role model or mentor for new staff and students. Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training. Certification in Surgical Technology strongly preferred. Two years multispecialty experience with one year in CVOR specialty area. Will consider 2 years' experience in complex surgical cases such as neuro, ortho-spine, vascular, general (liver, colon), etc. Must be able to function as a clinical expert in CVOR service line and have the ability to float to other service lines as needed.
