Technical Project Manager - Modernization

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to lead modernization efforts for IIG, transitioning from legacy applications to cloud technologies. This role is pivotal in achieving our top IT priority of modernizing our applications. The ideal candidate will support a multi-year, division-wide technology modernization initiative, leveraging technical expertise to enhance project outcomes. Responsibilities: Drive Modernization: Support IIG's Modernization roadmap focused on migrating applications to the cloud, reducing our data center and mainframe footprint, and enhancing consumer access to quality data through cloud technologies. Strategic Leadership: Utilize strategic thinking to understand the big picture and refine details, enabling SI teams to prioritize work effectively. Process Implementation: Develop and implement processes that drive organizational success through architecture and technology solutions. Relationship Management: Manage ambiguity and foster relationships across sub-divisions to advance the modernization roadmap. Project Management: Oversee technology projects or technical workstreams within broader projects or programs. Develop, implement, and monitor project plans, contributing expertise to major deliverables, milestones, and tasks. Best Practices: Provide insights on best practices and common obstacles based on prior experiences. Serve as a trusted advisor to ensure strategies align with overall department and business requirements. Communication: Regularly update stakeholders, including leaders, team members, and senior managers, on project status and issues. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships. Proactively foster communication between internal and external project stakeholders and influence key decisions across stakeholder groups. Risk Management: Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate risks and issues on technology projects. Communicate solutions to management and stakeholders to obtain input and buy-in as appropriate. Special Projects: Participate in special projects and perform other duties as needed. Qualifications: Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of technology and Product Engineering practices. Project Management Skills: Ability to manage concurrent projects and prioritize work efficiently. Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities with the capacity to tailor messaging to different audiences. Relationship Building: Establish and develop relationships with others. Tool Proficiency: Experience with Confluence, JIRA, technology dashboards, and other big-picture planning practices. Learning Agility: Desire to quickly grow expertise and learn continuously.
