Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lab Support Services Tech to join our team. This role will be responsible for performing phlebotomy and processing lab specimens, ensuring accurate collection, labeling, and handling of samples. The ideal candidate will work closely with the laboratory team to maintain high standards of service and care for our patients. Key Responsibilities: Perform phlebotomy duties, including venipuncture and capillary collection from patients of all age groups. Properly label, handle, and prepare biological specimens for testing. Accurately process specimens according to lab protocols, ensuring timely and proper sample routing. Ensure that all specimens are appropriately logged, tracked, and documented in lab systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with lab regulations. Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers to ensure smooth and professional interactions. Follow infection control and safety procedures as mandated. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Phlebotomy certification or equivalent on-the-job training and experience preferred. Experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen labeling and processing. Proficiency in using computers and familiarity with laboratory software systems. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Must be able to work rotating weekend/holiday schedules, as needed. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must meet all training requirements during the first six months. Must have visual acuity and color discrimination. Work Environment: This position may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials. Proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols are required at all times.
