Job Summary · Nurse Practitioners (APRN) in collaboration with attending surgeon, are responsible for providing skilled health care to patients and facilitating clinical management of patients by collaborating with attending surgeons, clinical nurses and other members of health care team. Nurse Practitioner's scope of responsibility is characterized by use of standard nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate and treat human responses to actual or potential surgical problems utilizing appropriate practices, standards, protocols and guidelines. · Assesses the condition of the patient in the breast surgery practice by examination. Reviews with the patient the medical history and physical data from the patient's medical record. Establishes a new treatment plan or reinforces the current plan. · Open and timely communication with the surgeons regarding patients with new issues and newly diagnosed patients · Ability to adhere to HHC MG policies and standards of service as well as HIPPA requirements, OSHA regulations and Infection Control standards · Exhibits strong personal initiative and proactively acts to achieve goals beyond what is required or assigned. · Instructs the patient and family regarding the patient's diagnosis, testing, expected outcome and future prevention. · Evaluates the outcome of the treatment plan by reviewing diagnostic results with the patient through phone calls and return visits. · Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through modeling inclusive behaviors and proactively managing bias Schedule: Part time - 3 days (Monday, Thursday, Friday) - 20 hours per week (travel required within Central region) Advanced Practitioners Enjoy · Practitioners are trained with on the job and extensive support of Continuing Medical Education (CME) through active programming, reimbursement, and sponsored professional society memberships. · Licensure and certification reimbursement · Competitive salary · Tuition reimbursement programs. Qualifications Advanced Practitioners Qualifications Master's Degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant National Certification as PA or Advanced Practice and current CPR certification Current State of CT Physician Assistant or APRN license with prescriptive authority and current DEA number & 100% attendance to maintain annual mandatory skill updates 1+ year experience preferred, new graduates will be considered.
