The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full-Time Senior Operations Research Analyst (GS-1515-14) to serve at Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Force Capability Analysis Directorate (SAF/SAF), Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Apply Now!Qualifications/Requirements: In this position, you will serve as a senior Air Force (AF) Operations Research Analyst/Computer Scientist providing expertise in initiating, applying, and planning major developmental studies. The Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Force Capability Analysis Directorate (SAF/SAF) is recognized as the AF authority on operations research, advanced, analytical, mathematical, and statistical theories, principles, concepts, methods, and techniques to provide expert judgments concerning the validity of assumptions made and the criteria to evaluate alternatives and providing expert guidance and advice to HAF staff, Major Command (MAJCOM) activities, and/or other agencies. Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be able to obtain & maintain a Top Secret (TS) Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security clearance for intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP). This is a designated Drug Testing Position. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Degree in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. Advanced degree(s) are preferred. TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE INCLUDED. In-depth knowledge of a broad range of methods and techniques used in classical and modern advanced operations research studies and possession of analytical abilities. Expert knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions. Ability to participate in study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints. Ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques and design, build, and use computer models and simulation techniques. HIGHLY DESIRED: Experience with modeling, simulations, and United States Space Force (USSF) capabilities. You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
