The Sherwin-Williams Performance Coatings Group (PCG) has a network of global facilities supporting our sales efforts of supplying our global industrial customers with outstanding products and services. The Facilities Leadership Development Program (LDP) is a 12-month comprehensive program that will provide participants with classroom (including virtual) instructions, extensive on-the-job training in a PCG Facility, and self-study assignments. The Program is designed to develop key skills and experience that will prepare you for a post program role as an Operations Manager in one of our facilities. Following completion of the program, you will have the opportunity to apply for a post-program promotion as an Operations Manager. Relocation will be required for opportunities post-program. The individual selected for this role will be expected to work at our Rochester facility, located at 820 Emerson St, Rochester, NY 14613-1804. During the program, you will collaborate with facility management to oversee a multi-million-dollar business, providing leadership and insight into the development and strategy of that facility. Through the course of the program, you will learn all operations, customers, and internal strategy, allowing you to understand the significant part you'll play in the team's success. You will grow the company's market share by servicing large, sophisticated, and complex global manufacturers of wood, metal, or plastic who need coatings for the products they manufacture and sell. The largest segments we service in our global facilities are kitchen cabinets, heavy equipment, transportation, building products, military, and furniture. Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Additionally, duties will include assisting with daily bank deposits. General Complete training consistent with established program Develop business acumen for managing a profit and loss statement Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including safety, loss prevention, and security Participate in Continuous Improvement projects Maintain outstanding facility conditions in line with 6 Sigma standards Support employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action Learn Facility Operations and Production Planning Assist with daily bank deposits Other duties as assigned Product Service Room Gain a basic understanding of the Product Service Room Operate tinting and mixing equipment and material handling equipment in an efficient and safe manner Assist in blending operations Assist in blending schedules and production planning efforts Customer Service Learn and understand the Customer Service function Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction Build and maintain knowledge of all products to ensure effective customer recommendations Build positive relationships with customers Support business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability Respond to and solve any customer complaints Partner with Facility Manager/Sales Rep to make outside sales calls to increase market share Logistics Gain a basic understanding of inventory and warehouse management Assist in placing and following up on purchases from outside vendors per established policy Minimum Requirements: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License Must have a bachelor's degree or higher or have at least four (4) years of experience in manufacturing, distribution, sales, customer service or retail operations by the start of this development program Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. on occasion Must be willing to relocate for this position, if required Must be willing to relocate, as required, upon completion of the Performance Coatings Group Facilities Leadership Development Program Preferred Qualifications: Have a bachelor's degree in Operations, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or Sales Have at least one (1) year of experience in manufacturing, distribution, sales, customer service, or retail operations Have at least one (1) year of work experience in Sherwin-Williams Performance Coatings Group Operations Have at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s), supervising others, or leading teams Have prior work experience utilizing a Customer Relationship Management ("CRM") system Have prior work experience utilizing a Point of Sale (POS) system
