As a Dump Truck Driver, you will have a proven safety record, a history of being a team player, must have the initiative to be able to work without direct supervision. What You'll Get to Do: Operate the haul truck to transport rock products to the plant and stockpiles as directed Utilize equipment in a manner to maximize productivity and minimize wear and down time Work with customers on site to achieve maximum customer service. Work closely with the dispatch team to ensure the quickest and safest route to jobs. Maintain superior public relations in the performance of duties. Maintain vehicle in a clean, organized, and safe fashion. Report mechanical or maintenance issues with equipment Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures and rules/laws specified by site, city, state, federal Perform daily equipment inspections, as well as identify and assist in correcting unsafe condition Essential Experience and Skills: High School Diploma or equivalent required Class A CDL with no manual restriction required Safe driving record. No serious moving violations within past 36 months; no more than two moving violations within the past 24 months (Driver's abstract required). Ability to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions. Proven communication and problem-solving skills while working with customers. Good attendance and punctuality a must. Possess a solid knowledge of local and state transportation regulations. Display or have some mechanical aptitude for minor preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections. Must have the initiative to be able to work without direct supervisor and be a team player. Ability to work in year-round weather conditions, extremes of hot and cold weather. Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, lift (up to 60 lbs.), stretch, drive/sit, and shift gears. Must be able to work flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, weekends, and nights may be required. Must be able to effectively communicate with the dispatch office, safely follow directions, and promptly deliver in an efficient manner. Report any deviations from the norm that might impact product quality or processing efficiencies. Weigh truck and properly log weight of material hauled as required. Preferred Experience and Skills: 2 years prior haul truck (or other large mobile equipment) experience preferred Previous experience in open pit mining operations and aggregate products is an asset Experience with preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections Current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate a plus.
