Job Description 3rd Shift - Stitcher/Folder Operator Company: Sheridan Grand Rapids Department: Bindery Reports To: 3rd Shift Production Supervisor Job Summary: Complete the set-up, operation and maintenance of Bindery equipment including Stitchers and Folders while meeting quality and productions goals. Essentials Duties: Coordinate pocket set-up of the Stitcher according to job specification Inspect books for quality throughout the stitching process Execute the complete process related to paperwork and forms Responsible for feeding pockets Assist with make readies (m/r) on all equipment Follows all safety procedures and protocol. Read and understand the job tickets, work orders, and all other documentation that pertains to each job. Interact with and direct the Stitcher crew to facilitate daily schedules. Understand and meets customer quality standards Ability to meet and/or exceed expected goals on make-readies, speeds, waste, and efficiency The ability to operate all necessary tools... wrenches, gauges, tape measures, etc. Assist with the routine maintenance of equipment Other duties as assigned by management Basic Qualifications: Must be dependable, reliable, and responsible in fulfilling obligations. Must be able to effectively troubleshoot equipment Must have a high school diploma or GED Must work well with others Must be flexible and open to change when needed Must have the ability to follow instructions Must be a proven self-starter to complete projects/work orders Must have the ability and willingness to lift up to 50 pounds Must be willing to work overtime as needed The ability to occasionally work 12-hour shifts Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Minimum 1-year bindery experience Basic small packaging knowledge Basic mechanical and mathematical aptitude Physical Requirements"¯ Prolonged periods of standing while setting up and operating equipment"¯ Periods of bending, twisting, kneeling and squatting Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times."¯"¯ CJK Group is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
