Overview Bowhead is seeking a Engineering Technician to support the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) on Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). Responsibilities Support the preparation of metallic powders for consolidation, such as loading hot isostatic press (HIP) cans, equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE) blanks, and spark plasma sintering (SPS) dies using a glove box under a controlled atmosphere Setup, operate, and maintain TIG, MIG, and/or gas welding systems; setup, operate, and maintain a HIP, ECAE system, and SPS system to achieve desired microstructure evolution and material properties Conduct post-processing annealing treatments Assist in HIP can and SPS die design for improved consolidation, which may involve use of a coordinate measuring machine; In addition, the technician will be expected to communicate clearly and proactively with team members, follow all safety protocols, and contribute to the development of quality assurance protocols. Qualifications Associate's degree in engineering technology, materials science, or related fields Proficiency in welding using TIG, MIG, and gas welding systems Experience with high-temperature furnaces Proficient use of Office 365 applications for data entry, documentation, and basic data analysis Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Must maintain certification/license to operate Bowhead and Government vehicles Desired Skills: Experience with hot isostatic press, spark plasma sintering, and equal channel angular extrusion systems. Experience with laser systems and coordinate measurement machines Experience with data analysis Experience with technical writing Electrical worker, as defined by ARL and APG Safety. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location. Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically #LI-GC1
