The Market Development Manager is a strategic advisor, guiding key client and prospect relationships to build RSM advocates in the business community. The Market Development Manager leverages deep knowledge of RSM's business and growth goals to develop and execute go-to-market strategies aligned with industry and LOB priorities. This role focuses on building and enhancing relationships with essential targets, including current clients, prospects, and key community influencers. This individual aligns with RSM's Communication, Marketing, and Growth (CMG) goals and programs. The Market Development Manager will focus on Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Pittsburgh, supporting growth in local offices. Travel for the role is expected to be around 3-5 times per year. "‹ Responsibilities include: Creates a local association strategy to build and maintain relationships with aligned external organizations, showcasing RSM's expertise and strengthening key connections. Positions RSM thought leaders to enhance market visibility in line with enterprise, LOB, industry, and CMG goals. Serves as a marketing advisor to local leadership and practice stakeholders, offering guidance from a regional market perspective. Local market: Advises office and market leaders on crafting marketing strategies that align with business objectives, taking into account market conditions, competitive positioning, and key insights from business developers, pursuit teams, and market influences. Leverages intelligence from local market publications and internal research tools and data to inform strategy development. Industry: Drives new and expanding business through account-based marketing strategies, working closely with growth team leaders and local teams. Aligns efforts with enterprise line of business and industry goals to support effective targeting by defining criteria, identifying targets, and providing tools and market insights. Advises on relationship-building strategies and participates in account planning and pursuit discussions to strengthen relationship development. Enhances target relationships within an industry by analyzing and sharing insights from enterprise marketing campaign results. Uses digital metrics to inform local teams on strategies to accelerate engagement, tailored to each stage of the buyer journey. Collaborates with local practice leaders and CMG counterparts to develop and execute integrated marketing plans that align with key business strategies for assigned growth teams, markets, or service lines, partnering with business developers to meet strategic growth objectives. Co-leads local go-to-market and intentional growth team meetings, applying national programs to local target audiences and providing insights on enhancing relationships through relevant content, buyer journey stages, and marketing initiatives. Integrates national industry or LOB marketing strategies at the local level, focusing on priority clients and targets to drive growth and deepen relationships, while contributing feedback to national teams on program effectiveness in local markets. As a client experience strategist, interprets Voice of the Client and post-engagement survey findings, sharing industry-specific insights with relevant teams and participating in Voice of the Client interviews. Implements enterprise marketing strategies in the local market, empowering client service professionals with growth tools and training, and advising on positioning RSM as a middle-market leader and corporate citizen. Drives local public relations efforts aligned with CMG media strategies to enhance the RSM brand in the community, featuring local leaders and initiatives, while promoting national media releases as appropriate. Champions the firm's brand compliance and strategy, ensuring alignment in messaging and identity for their responsibilities, along with any other assigned duties. At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range. Compensation Range: $92,600 - $159,000 Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
