Position Summary: The Sr. Health & Safety Specialist will focus on improving health and safety at STARPLUS ENERGY by using his/her experience to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, control, and minimize hazards in the workplace. This position reports to the Health & Safety Manager. Roles & Responsibilities: Assist the Health & Safety Manager with department planning activities Conduct incident investigations and audits to identify and eliminate or minimize the chances of preventable work-related illnesses and injuries Function as an expert resource for consistent implementation of company health and safety standards and programs Respond to and reports emergency situations Manage compliance of annual safety trainings Perform Risk Assessments Track and record data for safety-related activities including injuries, near-miss incidents, etc. Enforce all company policies and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations Communicate safety issues and concerns to departmental leadership in a timely manner Perform other position related duties as assigned Qualifications: Basic: Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or related field Minimum 5 years' experience in similar positon Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications Exhibit excellent interpersonal abilities, effectively engaging with individuals at various organizational levels Strong knowledge of all OSHA, federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to workplace health and safety Must be eligible to work in the United States While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international) Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required Preferred: Previous experience managing health and safety personnel Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or related Designation Bilingual (English and Korean) Working Conditions: Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time Ability to work in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time Ability to operate basic office equipment Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
