RWE Clean Energy, LLCTo start as soon as possible, full time, permanentFunctional area: Finance / ControllingRemuneration: Exempt The General Ledger Manager supervises team of 4-8 accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including General Ledger, Financial Statements and Year-end audit preparation. Manager, General Ledger, collaborates closely with various Accounting and Finance teams, assist in ad hoc projects, provides guidance to General Ledger team, continuously work to improve the efficiency of the accounting and reporting processes. Responsibilities:Ensure an accurate and timely monthly ,quarterly and year end close. Overview month end close activities, including preparing/reviewing standard and miscellaneous journal entries, account reconciliation, running month end transaction like settlements/depreciation/BS analysis, supervise the GL Team to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are metObtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure. Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions as well as developing and maintaining of accounting policies and proceduresMonitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracySupport for internal and external audit activities, as appropriate. Support special projects, as appropriate, with Financial Reporting, Tax, Structure Finance, Risk and Credit, Controlling Establish best practices related to the monthly close process and account reconciliation process in order to operate in an efficient and effective mannerWork with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff. Hiring, training and supervision of accounting staff Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA license preferredMinimum 8 years of relevant work in the energy industry or related field, including at least 2 years of managing direct reportsFamiliar with IFRS and US GAAP Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferredStrong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationshipsDemonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables spaceExcellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and TeamsStrong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlinesStrong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverablesAbility to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a teamMotivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilitiesProven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgroundsResponds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachableIs detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business conceptsThis position is hybrid Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
