The program is seeking a Machinery Controls Systems Engineer to join them in Philadelphia, PA.In this role, you will provide lifecycle support of fielded and future Machinery Control Systems (MCS) on the USS ARLEIGH BURKE class of destroyer. This includes shipboard support as well as Land Based Engineering Site (LBES) support. The USS ARLEIGH BURKE MCS is comprised of several variants spanning various technologies. The newest technology variant focuses on industry standard commercial off the shelf (COTS) equipment inclusive of ruggedized computers and programmable logic controller (PLC) systems.Lifecycle support of the supervisory machinery control system which includes, but is not limited to:Provide design support for integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environmentProvide technical input to the design of future MCS systemsDevelop, derive, and refine system and software requirements for future fielded systemsTroubleshooting complex problems of future fielded systems (PLC based control systems) both at LBES and shipboardReview of technical documentation related to future fielded systemsProvide test support at LBESProvide shipboard SW & HW installation support at LBES Develop test procedures to exercise requirements of future fielded systemsEssential Skills:Knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures associated with industrial control systemsProficiency in reading electrical diagramsProficiency in the use of test tools associated with industrial control systems Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools associated with industrial control system troubleshootingProficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applicationsProficient in basic computer/laptop use including advanced operationsBasic knowledge of network troubleshooting toolsBasic Qualifications:BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree1+ years of experience with electrical engineering or computer engineering as it pertains to control systems in an industrial environmentExperience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems Security+Secret clearancePreferred Skills:Familiarity with IEC 61131-3 standardFamiliarity with Rockwell, Siemens, or other PLC systemsExperience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems Experience upgrading hardware platforms of Legacy Embedded Systems Experience with ISO/IEC/IEEE Systems and Software StandardsAdditional Information:This position requires the candidate to travel at least 20% of the time.This position requires an onsite workload at LBES for at least 50% of the time.GDIT IS YOUR PLACE:401K with company matchComprehensive health and wellness packagesInternal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your careerProfessional growth opportunities including paid education and certificationsCutting-edge technology you can learn fromRest and recharge with paid vacation and holidaysThe likely salary range for this position is $91,034 - $123,164. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
