We are looking for a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist Lead like you to be a part of our team.Job Summary and QualificationsThe Lead Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) performs all modes of respiratory therapy in patients of varying ages and medical conditions. Therapy is performed in accordance with the standards of practice as defined by Tomball Regional Hospital. The Respiratory Care Practitioner works independently, utilizing a variety of sophisticated instruments and technology and demonstrates good judgment and decision making in the treatment and handling of the individual patient. The Lead RRT may oversee other staff and assist the department management as directed. Also, identifies opportunities for continuous improvements of processes and services on an on-going basis.Will initiate respiratory orders, contacts physicians for order clarifications and implements corrections as indicated. Must be able to perform arterial blood gas sampling and ensures that results are available in the EMR. Must have the ability to troubleshoot all equipment required for blood gas analysis. Must be able to recognize blood gas critical values and intervenes appropriately. Will assemble and check all respiratory equipment for proper function, operation and cleanliness, including the correction of malfunctions. Performs required equipment safety checks as indicated. Follow the process for exchanging crash carts. Performs lead therapist responsibilities as required. Make appropriate assignments, rebuild crash carts and completes blood gas reports. Effectively handle situations including problem-solving, sound decision making and communication Ability to perform EKG'sResponsible for providing every aspect of respiratory care to all patients. Responsible for acting as an advanced resource person for all other staff. Other assigned duties as neededWhat qualifications you will need:Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start dateBasic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateRegistered Respiratory Therapist certification issued by the NBRCRespiratory Care Practitioner certification issued by the Texas Medical BoardAssociate Degree from an accredited respiratory programA minimum of 5 years experience as an RRTNICU experience requiredMust be able to work nights and rotating weekendsHCA Houston Healthcare Tomball has provided quality healthcare to Tomball, Magnolia and Northwest Houston communities since 1948.
