Job ***** Assistant Portfolio Manager** Hartford, CT | New York, NYJob * Reporting to the Head of Alternatives in Investment Management (IM), the Assistant Portfolio Manager will be an integral part of a team comprising of CFA charter holders, Actuaries, and other investment professionals. The IM team is responsible for various critical functions, *Developing the Enterprise Strategic Asset AllocationMaking tactical decisions regarding asset class allocations versus targetsManaging day-to-day portfolio activities and decision-makingOverseeing asset-liability managementHandling liquidity managementUnderwriting and selecting third-party asset managersSupporting asset modeling across the enterpriseKey *Identifying and Evaluating Investment *Conduct thorough diligence on new alternative investment opportunities.Contribute to thought leadership in portfolio construction.Select and evaluate investment managers.Prepare materials for executive presentations to support investment recommendations.Manage day-to-day decisions and ongoing management of alternative portfolio investments once onboarded.Support modeling of the alternatives portfolio for risk analysis, financial forecasting, liquidity planning, and other needs.Engage with cross-functional teams (Legal, Finance, ERM, Actuarial) before and after closing investments.**Bachelors degree or higher3-8 years of experience in an investment or quantitative role within the insurance sectorInvestment background or focus (e.g., pursuing CFA credential)Strong analytical skillsCreative problem-solving abilities, including navigating ambiguityDetail-oriented and organized; able to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines independently
