Our innovativesteel manufacturing process utilizes well-established chemistry to dramatically reduce theenvironmental impact of steel production, all while offering domestic economic advantages to theindustry and enabling onshoring production.Chief Financial OfficerHertha Metals Inc. is seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial strategy and operations during a pivotal phase of growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will oversee all financial aspects of the company, aligning corporate strategy with financial planning, managing corporate and project financing, and cultivating investor relationships to scale the business.The successful candidate will bring a track record of financial leadership in venture-backedcompanies, deep project finance expertise, and a passion for sustainability and innovation.Location: onsite in Conroe, TX (Greater Houston Area)Reports To: Chief Executive OfficerYOUR RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Financial Leadership & Business Growth• Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board, and executive team, shaping financial strategy toalign with corporate objectives.• Translate corporate vision into actionable financial plans, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals.• Identify and drive new business growth opportunities, leveraging financial insights to pushfor strategic expansion.• Manage corporate financial modeling, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flowforecasting.• Oversee financial risk management, ensuring alignment with commercial partnerships andproject financing.• Provide financial guidance on carbon credit and oTset strategies, structuring customizedinstruments to unlock revenue potential.Capital Raising & Investor Relations• Lead fundraising eIorts alongside CEO for Series X and beyond• Cultivate and manage relationships with institutional and strategic investors, ensuringstrong capital support.• Oversee cap table management and data room preparation for fundraising eTorts.• Act as the primary liaison for Board reporting, ensuring transparency on financialperformance, forecasts, and strategic plans.Financial Operations & Scaling the Business• Establish world-class financial controls, reporting tools, and operational metrics,providing transparency on business health.• Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), tax strategies, and cost-control initiatives tooptimize profitability.• Develop financial forecasting frameworks to track performance and guide businessdecisions.• Hire, mentor, and scale a high-performance finance team that grows with the company.Project Financing & Capital Management• Secure project financing for large-scale industrial and commodity market projects.• Develop and implement structured finance solutions, including debt financing andinvestment vehicles.• Ensure alignment of financial strategies with commercial agreements and infrastructuredevelopment.YOUR QUALIFICATIONSExperience & Expertise• 8-10 years as a CFO, with at least 3+ years at a venture-backed Series B+ company inhardware, industrial, or clean tech sectors.• Proven fundraising track record exceeding $50M, including direct engagement withinstitutional investors.• Experience scaling a company from $40M to $150M+ in revenue.• Deep expertise in project financing, structured finance, and contract negotiation.• Strong FP&A background with an analytical, data-driven approach.• IPO experience is a plus.Leadership & Business Acumen• Executive presence with a collaborative, low-ego leadership style.• Demonstrated ability to drive alignment, communication, and execution acrossdepartments.• Exceptional problem-solving skills and sound judgment in complex, high-stakesenvironments.• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to flourish in a fast-paced, high-growthenvironment.Preferred Skills & Industry Knowledge• MBA in Finance, CPA, CFA, or CMA credentials are highly desirable.• Expertise in commodity markets and carbon oIset mechanisms (voluntary ®ulatory).• Experience in enterprise SaaS or open-source financial models is a plus.Cultural Fit• Mission-driven, hands-on leader who balances strategic vision with execution.• Intellectually curious with a deep ability to break down complex business problems.• Entrepreneurial energy, drive, and resilience to navigate startup challenges.• High integrity, maturity, and ethical standards in decision-making.This is a high-impact role for a visionary financial leader who can drive growth, secure capital, and establish financial excellence at scale.Hertha Culture:Inspired by the work and character of the late Hertha Ayrton, we are pioneers, innovators, and risk-takers who are mission driven towards changing the world.
