Come join our team and help us make a difference in our members lives!Full Job DescriptionThe VP of Lending is responsible for providing leadership that will enable their team and the Credit Union to deliver exceptional service to our members. This will be accomplished through developing/implementing an overarching lending program, preparing/managing budgets, maintaining fair compliant lending standards, and focusing on business development at the Credit Union. Additionally, must ensure compliance with all policies and regulations. Will also deliver outstanding service to teammates/members by supporting the vision of the Credit Union.Role Specific ExpectationsResponsible for the credit union's administrative management of lending functions and operationsEnsure maximum profitability of lending activities that are in the best interest of the memberSet the Lending Department's strategic plans to align with the credit union's business planEstablish and ensure the implementation of target goals for the departmentAlong with the President/CEO, create the budget for the department and track on an ongoing basis for adherenceResearch and evaluate feasibility of new lending productsDevelop and implement plans for expansion of lending programsProvide mentoring, coaching, and/or training to support and develop staffKeep abreast of changes in the industry and changing trends in lending and react to changes in a way that maintains competitivenessReview/manage department vendor relationships/contracts to ensure top level service is receivedServe as the primary point of contact for the outsourced marketing firm and lead the marketing efforts with it for the credit unionAll other duties as assignedLeadership Team Level ExpectationsPossess a strong enthusiasm for the Credit Union MovementBring a level of dedication and initiative to your work that surprises teammates and our membersCreate an environment of ownership where you strive to exceed expectationsCoach your team to excel in their roles at the Credit UnionBe an active representative for the Credit Union in the communities we serveBe quick to take initiative, decisive, help wherever help is needed, and jump into whatever task is needed to get the job doneReview and recommend new methods and procedures to ensure the delivery of top quality service to membersDrive operational effectiveness through process improvementsAssure consistency with compliance to policies and regulationsActively participate in strategic planning activities by proactively driving new strategies to anticipate and plan for future Credit Union and member needs, member/product needs, and ensure all staff understands the overall vision in regards to the strategic goals.Participate as an active member of the Credit Union leadership teamDirectly supervises Lending managers and staffQualification RequirementsAdvanced knowledge of the Credit Union MovementBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferredA minimum of five years of consumer and mortgage lending experience within a Credit Union or related financialCommercial lending experience highly preferredFive years of progressively increasing responsibility within a Credit Union or related financialMasters level financial institution training a plus (CUNA Management School, CUES Schools, etc.)Excellent communication skills in both oral and written disciplinesExcellent attention to detailA desire to make a difference in our members livesPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to sit and use hands to operate a computer, telephone, calculator, and other pieces of office equipmentThere are frequent requirements to speak and listenThere is occasionally a need to lift and/or move up to 25 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this role include the ability to adjust focusWork EnvironmentThe noise level in the work environment is moderateOccasionally work related travel may be requiredThe above statements reflect the general detail necessary to describe the major functions of the role described and is not intended to be a detailed description of all the duties that may be required.
