Job description:HTI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality & Safety Specialist with a large start-up manufacturing facility in Waynesboro, GA (located just south of Augusta, GA). This is a full-time, direct-hire, onsite position. The company offers fantastic benefits and opportunities for growth. Pay rate will depend on experience and education, and the range is approximately $55,000 - $75,000 / year.Requirements:Must have 3+ years of Quality Technician, Auditor, or Inspector in a manufacturing plant, with experience conducting root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conformancesMust also have at least 1+ year of experience as a Safety Team member or Safety Specialist within a manufacturing plantAssociate's degree in a technical field, Safety, Quality, or a related field is preferred; must have high school diploma or GEDMust be able to interpret technical drawings/blueprints, work instructions, plans, diagrams and product specificationsExperience with measuring tools and quality-related equipmentPrevious training, certifications, and/or experience in quality related problem-solving techniques (SPC, PFMEA, FMEA, PPAP, etc.) is a plusMust possess strong written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to effectively coordinate with team members at all levels of the organizationStrong computer/systems skills are required, and ERP system experience is strongly preferredExperience with an ISO and/or UL certified company is preferredMust be flexible and able to adapt quickly to change as this is a startup environmentLocal candidates strongly preferredSummary:The Quality & Safety Specialist will ensure that all finished products meet quality standards, in accordance with internal and customer requirements and specifications. This role will involve heavy time on the production floor conducting quality checks on finished products, conducting root cause analysis on non-conformances, and development/implementation of corrective actions. This person will also assist with the development and implementation of plant safety procedures and policies, conduct safety inspections, and assist with safety training and communication.Job duties include:Quality:Serve as a representative of the company's global quality management team, and communicate with them regularly to ensure adherence to company and customer quality standardsConduct quality inspections, measurements, and testing of assembled products and parts to ensure they are in compliance with internal and customer standards and specsWork with production and assembly leaders to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions on any non-conformancesAnalyze and recommend appropriate changes to production and assembly proceduresEnsure production employees are trained in all processes and procedures related to proper part assembly and quality expectationsEnsure that quality procedures are in use, functional, and efficientServe as a representative to external contacts for quality-related issues and internal/3rd party quality auditsTrack and report all quality-related KPI'sCoordinate and communicate with the Purchasing Department to resolve supplier quality issuesEstablish, implement, and enforce procedures/SOP's for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safetyPromote company-wide quality and continuous improvement effortsSafety:Conduct daily safety inspections and walk-throughs to ensure that all employees are wearing the correct PPE, that all equipment Is being used in a safe manner, and that there are no safety hazards within the facilityProvide input on and implement ideas to increase safety awareness and availability of PPE, including safety signage within the plant, locations for PPE to be stored where it is easily accessible to team members, etc.Assist with the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures, the overall plant safety plan, and other safety-related documentationConduct job hazard analysis Provide coaching and mentoring to employees regarding safety standards and PPE requirementsAssist with employee safety training and incident documentationBenefits include:Medical, dental and vision insurance401K with 5% employer match3 weeks of vacation
