3D Print Specialist Our client in Troy, MI is seeking a 3D Print Specialist. This is a contract position. The 3D Print Specialist will work with project management, both within Design and other functions to understand requirements, including timing and also create schedules to meet stakeholder requirements and milestones, maximizing efficiency of in-house printers. What you get to **Prepare and manage 3D printing of parts, including data preparationOperate machines, including removal of support material from prints and loading of materialCarry-out minor secondary operations such as bonding and threaded insertsPrepare packages for quotation, for any outsource requirementsCo-ordinate logistics for outsourcing of secondary operationsMaintain appropriate stock levels of key materials, including procurement and vendor liaisonLead the maintenance and repair of equipment, including scheduled services, preventative maintenance and critical sparesWork in a creative space while working in unison with others independently and togetherUse independent judgement with only general supervisionPut dimensional information on model for checking or duplicationCoordinates input from internal and external customer to better understand needs and or perceptionsWork with the team, providing inputs into work and timing plansHelp coordinate logistics and material requirements for projectsTake pride, with great attention to detail in the quality of models producedWhat you bring to the **Minimum of 5-8 years workshop experience in a professional product development environmentCollege level education in transportation design or fine arts a plusAbility to create schedules and material lists in ExcelAbility to create detailed timing plansAbility to modify 3D dataStrong communication & interpersonal skills a mustAbility to read line drawings, perform basic math calculations, operate shop machineryExcellent spatial perception, hand/eye coordination and dexterityAbility to stand for long durations of time in addition to stooping, bending and reaching regularly and lifting up to 30lbsFlexible approach to meet challenging timing plansWillingness to travel occasionally (within the US), to support activities at other locations
