NO C2C, ONLY W2We are hiring for Mobile Network Engineer - II (Switching & Transport) /Network Engineer - II (Voice & Data Networks) - Mobile Switching Center in Rochester NY(5 days Onsite)Job Description:We are seeking a Network Engineer - II for our Mobile Switching Center (MSC) in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate will handle the installation, operation, and maintenance of switching, data communications, and related equipment. This role involves monitoring and troubleshooting voice and data network platforms, ensuring systems are running smoothly and efficiently.The candidate must have strong problem-solving skills, project management experience, and the ability to collaborate well with internal teams and vendors.Key Responsibilities:Installation & Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain switching, data communications, and equipment associated with the Mobile Switching Center (MSC).Network Performance: Monitor network integrity, including using traffic and capacity monitoring tools to track errors and maintain optimal network performance.Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot voice and data network platforms, ensuring everything from Gigabit Ethernet services to dark and lit fiber services (OCn, T3, T1, DS0) is functioning properly.Coordination: Assist with coordinating installation, testing, and troubleshooting across various network platforms and transmission facilities.System Monitoring: Monitor automated systems (BAS) to maintain the operation of network equipment, such as AC/DC power systems and HVAC systems.Safety & Compliance: Ensure vendor safety and network integrity by maintaining a secure operating environment and complying with safety standards.Documentation: Maintain and update daily logs with site-specific information. Compose system documentation reports to track changes and maintain environmental compliance.Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to identify and solve complex network issues. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.Physical Tasks: Perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, lifting up to 40 pounds, crawling in small spaces, and working from elevated areas.Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:Associates degree or two or more years of relevant work experience.Three or more years of relevant experience in network engineering.Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (e.g., lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces).Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional nights.Local candidates (within a 1-hour commute from Rochester) preferred.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.Experience in wireless networks.Certifications in LAN/WAN switching and IP routing protocols (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, NRS).Experience in automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).Knowledge of transmission facilities (e.g., dark and lit fiber services, Gigabit Ethernet Services, OCn10G, OC48, T3, T1, DS0).Familiarity with Ericsson, Samsung, or Nokia equipment.Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.Additional Information:Worksite Model: Worksite-Based (Onsite, 5 days per week)What you didn't know about us:Competitive salaryHealth, Dental and Vision BenefitsShort/Long Term Disability and CriticalCare/Illness ProtectionLife Insurance and Retirement PlansEmployee Assistance ProgramWith this position, you will get the opportunity to work with our game changing clients and further advance your already valuable experience in the telecom industry!We are Connectors.
