The Legal Assistant will support attorneys in representing clients by preparing and filing legal documents accurately and on time. This role involves client interaction, case management, and administrative coordination to ensure smooth legal proceedings.ResponsibilitiesPrepare applications, filings, motions, and extensions as required per case.Collect necessary documents from clients.Assist in preparing clients for court.Coordinate and obtain case-related documents from other firms and attorneys.Deliver documents to court and relevant offices in emergencies.Scan and organize legal documents for attorney use.Track case deadlines and ensure timely completion.Communicate with the court for administrative tasks and record requests.Meet with clients for application processing and conflict resolution.Assist clients with biometric issues and case-related notices.Translate verbal and written communication for clients.Inform clients about hearings, missing documents, and preparation meetings via phone, email, or text.Maintain a professional office environment and promote a positive company image.Intake client information for consultations.QualificationsFluency in Spanish is required.High school diploma or GED; 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong oral and written communication skills.Organizational and planning abilities.Professionalism and time management skills.Required SkillsAbility to read and interpret legal and procedural documents.Capability to write reports and correspondence.Proficiency in speaking effectively with clients and team members.Preferred SkillsBasic arithmetic skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Ability to apply common sense and follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.Problem-solving skills for standardized situations.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Clio, and Kenect.
