Position ** Estimating EngineerJob ** Full TimeReports Directly ** Vice President of PreconstructionSummary of * The Estimating Engineer is responsible for compiling bid package information in preparation of building proposals, performing dirt models for estimating purposes, performing take offs, obtaining bids for subcontractors and suppliers, during the preconstruction process.Areas of *Developing and maintaining good healthy and effective relationships with internal and external clients.Identifying and evaluating all the technical issues that are related to projects.Being present and actively participating in pre-bid meetings and site tours for which the Estimating Engineer is responsible for.Build dirt models through Agtek.Review of soil geo reports and discussion with estimating team regarding the information available.Collect and compile all pertinent project documentation including plans, specifications, geo reports, municipal codes, special stipulations.Study and review all documentation.Obtain multiple quotes for subcontractors and suppliers and negotiate pricing.Prepare and present site visit documentation.Prepare takeoffs for both internal and external scopes and compare with subcontractor and suppliers.Assist in the establishment of strategic production rates based on specific site constraints.Prepare budgets based on plans, specs, and production rates.Procure, review and present subcontractor pricing and scope.Participate in turnover meetings with operations. Provide all pertinent information and accurately explain takeoff process and procedure for the project's estimate.Manage Project Estimators expectations, needs and communication for preconstruction.Evaluate and propose VE opportunities with VP of Preconstruction to move projects along and present more value to our clients.Software ** AGTEK, Microsoft Office Suite, On Screen Takeoff, HCSS Heavy BidManage initial bonds and insurance request.We offer a competitive base salary, full benefits, 401k, and annual bonus as well.
