Employment Paralegal (Part-time)

About the Company - Looking for a part-time paralegal for a small, but quickly expanding, civil litigation firm located in Lafayette, CA. Paralegal with employment litigation experience required. This position is a unique opportunity to gain valuable, first-hand legal experience. Looking for someone who is hard-working, organized, detail-oriented, and flexible. This position will be hybrid where you can work from home a few days a week and work at our Lafayette office. For the right person we may consider fully remote.About the Role - Preparing claims for litigation from intake to resolution under attorney supervision, including preparing administrative submissions, drafting state and federal court pleadings, and preparing for trial and/or arbitration. Conducting legal research and prepare memoranda. Managing and executing document preservation and litigation hold notices. Preparing, maintaining, and updating electronic case files to ensure efficiency, organization, proper case management, and understanding of case status by other employees and attorney. Identifying and completing periodic tasks related to the management of each case, documenting notes in the case management system. Managing, updating, and entering calendar deadlines, including court dates and statutes of limitation. Preparing and responding to written discovery, cataloging evidence, and organizing evidence in anticipation of trial. Scheduling depositions and summarizing deposition testimony. Performing other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelors degree or equivalent5+ years as Litigation ParalegalParalegal certification requiredExperience with employment litigationComputer literacy and familiarity/fluency with Adobe, Excel, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.Ability to work overtime when needed
