Job Title - ABAP DeveloperLocation: Columbus, OH / Hybrid (3 days onsite - 2 days remote)Duration: 12 months + Visa: Visa Independent OnlyWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer with expertise in SAP ABAP development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, SAP systems, and ABAP programming, combined with a deep understanding of data integration, transformation, and analytics. You will work on designing, implementing, and optimizing data workflows, ensuring seamless collaboration between SAP systems and enterprise data platforms.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Data Engineering and Integration:o Design and develop data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data between SAP systems and other platforms.o Implement efficient data workflows to support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting requirements.o Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and integration strategies.2. SAP ABAP Development:o Develop and optimize ABAP programs, including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEFW).o Debug and troubleshoot ABAP-related issues, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.o Build custom solutions to meet unique business needs using ABAP Objects and SAP enhancement techniques.3. Data Visualization and Analytics:o Develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to provide actionable insights.o Ensure data models are optimized for performance and usability in Power BI.4. Collaboration and Support:o Work closely with cross-functional teams, including analysts, architects, and business stakeholders, to align on data solutions.o Provide guidance on SAP data extraction techniques, such as BAPIs, RFCs, IDOCs, and OData services.o Support the migration of data between legacy and SAP systems during implementation projects.5. Performance Optimization:o Monitor and optimize data extraction, transformation, and ABAP processes for high performance and reliability.o Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with SAP best practices.6. Documentation and Training:o Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes, ABAP developments, and system integrations.o Provide training and technical guidance to team members on SAP and ABAP-related topics.Qualifications:Education:* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Experience:* 5+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development in WM, SD, MM, and FI/CO.* 2+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL, or data integration.* Strong knowledge of SQL and database concepts (e.g., relational databases, data warehousing).* Experience in integrating SAP data (e.g., via BAPI, RFC, or IDocs) into analytics platforms.* Hands-on experience with SAP modules such as SAP ECC, S/4HANA, or SAP BW is highly preferred.Technical Skills:* Strong programming skills in ABAP (Classical and Object-Oriented).* Proficiency in designing and managing data workflows using tools like SQL, Python, or ETL platforms.* Familiarity with SAP data structures and extraction methods (e.g., BAPIs, IDOCs, OData).* Knowledge of modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Data Lake, or AWS is a plus.* Experience in SAP HANA modeling or CDS views is advantageous.Soft Skills:* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
