OverviewAn exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated and strategic leader to enhance alumni engagement and annual giving initiatives. This role is integral in fostering meaningful connections between alumni and the institution, strengthening the college's culture of philanthropy, and advancing its mission. The Director of Alumni & Annual Giving will play a pivotal role in relationship-building, program development, and fundraising efforts that support the colleges long-term success.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement strategies to grow membership and retention within the President's Council Society, the college's leadership annual giving society.Oversee the college's annual giving program, including multi-channel campaigns via mail, phone, email, text, and day-of-giving initiatives to increase alumni contributions.Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Alumni Association Board of Directors, fostering engagement through affinity connections such as the arts, athletics, Greek life, academic majors, clubs, and professional careers.Support and guide Lions Diplomats in their volunteer efforts and participation in alumni events throughout the year.Collaborate with the Career Development Center, Center for Student Involvement, and Athletics to create meaningful relationships between students and alumni, enhancing mentorship and networking opportunities.Partner with Enrollment Management to leverage alumni engagement in student recruitment efforts.Supervise the Director of Alumni Events & Communication, ensuring the delivery of impactful programs and communications.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in alumni relations, annual giving, development, or a related field.Proven track record in volunteer management, fundraising, and program development.Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.Experience managing and motivating teams, including direct reports and volunteers.Proficiency in donor databases, CRM systems, and digital engagement tools.Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.Key Competencies & AttributesEntrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to alumni engagement and fundraising.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.Ability to analyze data and develop strategic plans based on insights.Strong event planning and project management capabilities.Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in alumni programming and outreach.Work Environment & BenefitsThe position is based on campus in Reading, Pennsylvania, a vibrant community offering cultural, recreational, and professional opportunities.Competitive salary and benefits package, including professional development support.A dynamic and inclusive work environment that values collaboration and innovation.This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on alumni engagement and institutional advancement, helping to foster lifelong connections and support for the college's mission.
