Position: Maintenance Controls TechnicianLocation: Oxford, NCSalary: $32.89 - $39/hour (DOE)Schedule: 12-hour night shift with a $1.25/hour shift premiumSchedule Details: 2-2-3 schedule (work 2 three-day weekends per month, and have 2 three-day weekends off per month)Job Description:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Controls Technician to join our team in Oxford, NC. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the reliability and functionality of our industrial control systems and instrumentation. You will work with a variety of equipment and systems, including PLCs, SCADA devices, and other measurement and control instrumentation, to support production needs.Key Responsibilities:Consult technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, and codes to maintain and troubleshoot systems.Maintain backup and revision documentation for control systems and instrumentation.Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain control, measurement, and indicating instrumentation (including pneumatic, analog, and digital systems).Program and configure PLCs (Allen Bradley and other types) and PACs for plant process control systems.Organize and order PLC control components to ensure system integrity and uptime.Work with IT staff on network and computer-related activities.Prepare detailed technical reports for documenting issues, changes, and improvements.Manage projects to implement changes, improvements, and upgrades.Participate in on-call support to address production needs.Install, terminate, and test electrical, pneumatic, and fluid connections.Diagnose faults, perform repairs, calibrate components and systems, and replace components as necessary.Assist engineering teams with plant design, modifications, and hazard analysis.Maintain and update various computer-based control systems.Follow scheduled maintenance programs to ensure optimal system performance.Stay updated with industry advances and technology changes.Skills & Qualifications:High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree, specialized training, or Bachelor's degree preferred.Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in instrumentation and controls.Proven experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and other controller types.Strong understanding of PLC logic, programming, and flow diagram creation for program design, testing, and start-up.Familiarity with transmitters, analyzers, sensors, detectors, controllers, and other instrumentation used in industrial settings.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.Detail-oriented work style and commitment to meeting deadlines.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues.Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.Physical Requirements & Work Environment:Must be able to work 12-hour night shifts.Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding environment.May need to be on call to support production needs.
