How will you make a difference? As a member of the Global Operations Equipment group, you will be responsible for ideation, design, and implementation of critical strategic initiatives. We have production facilities across the globe. You will help bring a strong focus to continuously improving both our team and our processes. What do we want to know about you? The Materials Planning and Execution Manager provides materials management expertise to and leads a team of lineside materials/planning specialists. In this role, you will utilize your experience to solve urgent and complex supply chain problems, empower your team to problem solve materials issues, and drive continuous improvement efforts across the materials team and locomotive facility. As a manager, you will be accountable for your team's performance and will lead them to achieve plant operational, inventory, and premium transportation targets. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution A minimum of four years work experience in a manufacturing operations environment w/ at least two years in one or more materials/fulfillment roles. Strong knowledge of Oracle ERP or another ERP system. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications & data analytics tools. Desired Characteristics: Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communications skills with a history of leading teams. Ability to influence up and down the organizational structure and to lead initiatives of large scope and impact while coordinating several projects simultaneously. Proven analytical and quality/process improvement skills. Willingness to take on tough challenges and grow professionally. What will your typical day look like? Lead a team of materials/planning specialists who are responsible for all direct material on one or several production lines in the locomotive facility. This may also include UX & local repair value streams. Work closely with the fulfillment and planning teams to forecast and avoid part shortages impacting production, escalating issues and communicating to the operations teams as necessary. Drive efforts to ensure the highest level of inventory controllership and accuracy and lead your team's efforts to prepare for and execute physical inventory. Develop, lead, and track continuous improvement projects within the materials team and locomotive facility. Work closely with leadership in operations, finance, fulfillment, & engineering to ensure that business goals & objectives are met. Be responsible for periodically evaluating and ensuring that your team is properly trained to be able to execute their standard work activities. Work closely with the site materials manager in developing realistic and challenging goals for the materials/planning specialists while tracking established goals & metrics with your team. Be an expert on all plant materials processes & best practices, developing and implementing new processes where none exist. Work as part of a cross functional team, driving a "one team" focus, dedicated to customer success within the shop. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, OSHA work practices, and industry/site-specific work rules. Work with various MRP, quality, and MES software systems to manage material and other systemic requirements. Be expected to frequently report on and present materials metrics and project improvements to senior and executive leadership. Be expected to respond to issues and communicate quickly and effectively when time is of the utmost importance to ensure that the job gets done. Be expected to work on-site at the locomotive facility in support of multi-shift manufacturing.
