With their recent growth, they are seeking an experienced Director of Sales and Marketing with similar values to join their team.About the Role:The Director of Sales and Marketing will collaborate with the General Manager, Director of Catering, and other colleagues while leading the property's overall sales and marketing operations. This role requires a dynamic, fun, and experienced candidate who is an individual contributor while providing sales leadership to the team.The right candidate should have established experience leading sales for independent hotels into SMERFs, Government, and Corporate clients. In addition, strong Social Media, SEO Analytics, and Internet Marketing experience would be a must to assist the hotel in evolving its brand.Position Type: Full-time, permanent, exempt position.Location: Hanover, MD, 100% on-site.Compensation: 110K - $135K, quarterly bonus, and bi-annual upside.Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Vacation, FSA, Short/Long-Term Disability, Life/AD&D, and others.How You Contribute:Work with the Area Director of Revenue to establish group and transient sales guidelines, create and promote packages, develop strategies for special events, and establish daily, weekly, monthly, and annual rate guidelines.Participate in direct sales efforts focusingon Government, Association, SMERF, and other market segments including prospecting, contracting, and account maintenance.Prospect and develop new accounts in the tri-state area and maintain current clients through outside sales efforts.Assist the leadership team in maintaining top-line operations by creating a culture of excellence through personal accountability and setting effective expectations.Train, develop, and lead a team of sales professionals through proper implementation of KPIs and mentorship.Ensure a smooth transition between sales and operations by collaborating with the Director of Catering.Direct marketing operations in partnership with the Corporate Team.Establish service and performance standards for sales, catering, and conference services and outline the level of service delivery for banquet and catering events.Participate in community and trade organizations including attendance at tradeshows and local networking events.Prepare and analyze monthly forecasting for rooms and F&B revenues and work closely with accounting to maintain and update year-to-date bookings reports for all events.Set and track revenue/booking goals for all group and catering segments and establish sales parameters including room-to-space ratios to optimize total revenue.Create and maintain an annual marketing plan in partnership with the corporate marketing team for strategic and tactical plans to improve both awareness and community position.Work with the VP of Hospitality and Sales and General Manager to create the Annual Business Plan.Review and analyze competition and customer needs to competitively position the hotel.Produce monthly sales-related reports and accurately produce and review all sales contracts and rate agreements.Work with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients.Maintain compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, standards, and emergency procedures.Foster a team culture that focuses on customer satisfaction.Effectively lead staff through respectful communication, clear expectations, and mentorship.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Business, or related fields.3+ years of experience as Director of Sales at a hotel property with high-volume rooms and F&B.2+ years of independent hotel experience is highly preferred.Availability during evenings and weekends as needed.Strong mentorship/leadership experience in managing direct reports in Sales.Ideal Software Experience: Opera, Delphi, MS Office Suite.HireCapital and our clients are equal-opportunity employers.
