The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and vetting projects from the concept, design and into the production stage of the product life cycle. The Project Engineer ensures the product meets the design and manufacturing requirements for a successful product launch.Essential Job FunctionsDevelop a product from concept through design to full production.Create and implement validation plans.Improve existing products to reduce manufacturing costs.Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent or correct field failures.Coordinate design changes with customers, tool room, and production.Manage tooling expansion and replacement.Ability to write RFQs to outside vendors and manage project effectively.Leading or participating in cross-function development teams including production, quality, engineering, finance, sales, and marketing.Collaborate with Engineering and Production to improve efficiency and quality.Develop the specifications for product and test validation.Create the framework used to develop and monitor project metrics and manage the collection of project dataQualificationsProject Management and Project Planning skills 5 years or more Project Engineering experience Understanding injection molded part design and design for manufacturabilityProven ability to work with minimal oversite with multiple departments, such as Purchasing, Engineering, and ManufacturingBachelors degree in Engineering or related fieldAbility to work on-site in Byron Center, MIExperience with fluid control devices or a related industry is a plus
