Job Title: Project ManagerLocation: Brea, CAJob Type: Full-Time (Onsite)Salary: $140K + Benefits (Flexible)Summary:This project is client's most important project in FY22 on the Aircraft & Industrial side of our business. This project is to help prepare us for the return of pre-COVID volumes by setting up duplicate production lines in our Tijuana, MX facility for GE, Collins and Boeing parts currently being manufactured in Brea only.Simply, if we do not do this GE, Collins and Boeing will be forced to look for other sources for this returning volume. This person will be responsible for leading this critical project from start to finish, making sure that we set up our capabilities and personnel in Tijuana to mirror Brea so that we have 2 locations capable of producing all parts.Responsible for drawing people from both Brea and Tijuana facilities together to achieve a common goal, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner to support project schedules, communicating openly and transparently re any issues and ultimately leading the project to a timely and successful conclusion.The scope of the position includes: indirect leadership of a cross-functional project teams (customer service, operations, engineering, quality), project cost management & productivity targets, and customer communication related to the project in coordination with Business Unit Manager(s) to ensure customer support.This key project is considered critical for company future and successfully Project Managing this will create opportunities for this person in Operations leadership roles going forward.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Lead and guide the cross-functional team to maintain clear focus and prioritiesServing as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergyFocus on value creation - specifically productivity savingsManage multiple projects between company Brea and Tijuana locations which may be expanded between other Transdigm locations and company Tijuana locationEnsure that project-based activities are carried out in accordance with specific objectives & timelines to achieve productivity targetsMeet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysisDirect & coordinate project activities cross-functional team(s) that includes: sales, customer service, engineering, supply chain, production planning, operations, quality and financeMake effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the projectAdjust project schedules and targets as needs or financing for the project changeDevelop project plans and monitors those plans to ensure on-time completionServe as customer point of contact in coordination with Business Unit Manager/SalesTrack program costs as required to make sure that the projects are completed within budgetStrong understanding of formal project management methodologies.Coordinate any engineering efforts with customer engineering.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (cont.):Direct and coordinate activities concerned with implementation and carrying out project objectivesReview reports and records of activities to ensure progress toward specific goalsModify methodology/approach as needed to redirect activities, project activities and to attain productivity goalsPrepare weekly project reports (that include results/metrics) for supervisor and managementConduct other duties as assignedKeeps area clean according to 5S standardsFollows all compliance safety rules as set by the companyPerform risk management to minimize potential risksSupervisory Responsibilities:Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of projects. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; and resolving any problems as they come up. No direct reports.Education and/or Experience:A Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university; technical or business discipline preferred. Five or more combined years of experience in Operations-based Project Management and/or Engineering with industrial experience preferred. Previous team management experience a strong plus.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong leadership skillsCritical thinking and problem solving abilitiesExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and coaching skillsExcellent computer skills with MS Windows programs is a must with MS Project knowledge preferredWorking knowledge of management and supervisory principlesExcellent organizational skillsAble to manage and prioritize multiple programs to maximize value creationStrong understanding of formal project management methodologies.Experience in project deliverables that are subjected to constraints of cost, time, and human resources.Excellent skills on critical path identification & management to ensure projects remain on scheduleSpanish Speaking is not required but long term could be very beneficial.Physical Demands & Other Requirements:While performing the responsibilities of the Project Manager's job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Passport is necessary.1 to 2 days every other week is anticipated.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes; airborne particles & vehicles.
