Logistics Specialist

Essential Job DutiesProvide timely international and domestic freight quotesIdentify, schedule, and manage cost effective inbound & outbound shipments; handle required paperwork, and maintain data in the appropriate systems.Interface with sales, purchasing, customer service, order management, and transportation providers to ensure the smooth and timely flow of materials.Process international paperwork for orders; ensure all shipments are proactively expedited through customs and are imported /exported in accordance with customs compliance.Track inbound and outbound shipments, drop shipments, freight auditing, and customs compliance, ensuring all shipments are delivered within their schedule.Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory freight requirements to ensure complianceValidate the accuracy of data received; perform quality checks of documents processedNotify management of issues, concerns and opportunities for improvementIdentify service failures in a timely manner, and process credit requests with carriersResearch missing or damaged freight and file claims accordinglyActively gather data and generate reports to analyze freight carrier performance and continually improve freight costs and processesUnwrap and check in inbound pallets that arriveMaintain clean and organized receiving and shipping areas CompetenciesDemonstrated initiative and attention to detail/qualityAction oriented and customer focusedExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-directed; able to overcome obstacles to meet deadlines Experience4+ years of experience shipping or freight experienceExperience in the IT field a plus Software RequirementsProficiency with Netsuite and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)ServerMonkey is an equal opportunity employer ***** 2130 W Sam Houston Pwky N Houston TX 77043***** Monday through Friday, 9:00-6:00 with an hour lunch break, no weekendsHourly ***** 18/hr plus full benefits
