A Fleet Maintenance Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the service, repairs, and upkeep of a companys fleet of commercial trucks, ensuring they remain operational and compliant with regulations. For a fleet specializing in ready-mix concrete trucks and aggregate haulers.Duties & Responsibilities:· Maintenance Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and oversee preventative maintenance schedules for ready-mix & aggregate trucks. Coordinate with mechanics, technicians, and external vendors for repairs and servicing. Ensure all trucks undergo routine inspections and meet regulatory requirements. Track vehicle downtime and optimize repair turnaround times.· Work Order Management: Create and assign work orders for maintenance and repairs. Monitor the progress of repairs and ensure timely completion. Document and track parts usage, labor hours, and costs associated with each repair. Verify repairs and maintenance tasks are completed to company and industry standards.· Compliance & Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of service history, DOT inspections, and compliance reports. Ensure fleet meets FMCSA, OSHA, and EPA regulations. Keep updated records on warranties, recalls, and manufacturer service bulletins. Assist with fuel tax reporting and emissions compliance.· Parts & Inventory Management: Work with the Parts & Inventory Specialist to ensure necessary parts are stocked. Order parts and equipment for scheduled and emergency repairs. Track costs and inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.· Communication & Vendor Coordination: Serve as liaison between mechanics, drivers, and fleet managers. Communicate with dealers, parts suppliers, and third-party repair shops. Provide status updates to dispatch and operations on truck availability.· Fleet Performance & Cost Control: Monitor fleet efficiency, including fuel usage, maintenance cost, and downtime. Identify recurring mechanical issues and propose solutions. Assist in budgeting and cost control for fleet maintenance expense. Generate reports on maintenance trends, costs, and breakdown frequencies.· Emergency & Breakdown Support: Respond to roadside breakdowns, coordinate towing and repairs. Work with drivers to troubleshoot minor issues remotely when possible. Ensure proper procedures for accident repairs and post-accident inspections.Skills& Qualifications:· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fleet maintenance.· Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation safety regulations, including DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA.· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.· Bi-lingual a PLUS.Work Content:· Face-to-face meetings and discussions with employees and clients.· General office settings within temperature-controlled environments.· Working outdoors (exposed to weather elements).Physical Requirements:· Exposure to hazardous conditions / materials.· Ability to work in loud / distracting environments.· Ability to lift 30 lbs.· Ability to stand for periods of time.· Wearing personal protective equipment when necessary.· Ability to work in small areas/ workspaces with others.· Ability to work in various environmental temperatures / exposure to foul weather.· Pass drug screening and fit for duty test.
