Talisman is partnered with a world-renowned construction and civil engineering company to find a Subcontracts Manager to manage the commercial, administration and contractual aspects of a 3-billion-dollar project in Chicago.Job Title: Subcontracts ManagerBased at: Chicago-IL, (USA) full timeDepartment: Project ControlsReports to: Commercial Manager / Deputy Project Manager Relocation and temporary housing will be considered for out of area candidatesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Commercial Expertise:Serve as the commercial expert for the management of the Designer JV contract.Provide strategic advice on commercial matters to ensure the projects financial success.Contract Negotiation:Negotiate the contractual terms for the main subcontractors and suppliers.Ensure that all contracts are fair, comprehensive, and protect the interests of the project.Policy Implementation:Implement the partners policies and procedures into the contracts.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.Contract Administration Support:Support the Technical Manager in charge of the Designer JV contract.Support the Construction Manager in charge of the subcontractors.Handle contract letters, claim analysis, change orders, and invoice checks.Stakeholder Communication:Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including client, 3rd parties, subcontractors, and suppliers.Provide regular updates on contract status and any issues that arise.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of all contract-related documents.Prepare reports on contract performance and compliance.Key Requirements:Legal degree, Master Degree in Civil EngineeringMinimum of 10 Years' experience in a contractual administration position with Designer and main Subcontractors in the construction industryExperience and knowledge in technical and design & build topics
