Operations ManagerFounded in 1956 by C. Fredrick "Fritz" Weisend, Fritz Industries has grown into an international manufacturing and distributing company serving thousands of customers for Specialty Aquatic products and Oilfield Chemicals around the world. Fritz Industries is an independent, 100% employee-owned company with headquarters and manufacturing facilities located in Mesquite, Texas. Reporting to the VP of the Specialty Division, we are seeking an Operations Manager to lead our Operations Team for the Specialty Aquatics Division. It has GROWN 7X in the last 10 yrs!Position Overvie:The Operations Manager contributes to Fritz Industries success by directing the production team to meet customer needs and achieve standards related to safety, cost, line efficiencies, waste, quality and productivity. This individual must set production performance standards and align the organization to achieve standards. This individual is responsible for managing all aspects of the Operations. You will lead Receiving, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Shipping with three Supervisors and their Teams. The ideal candidate will have bottling line manufacturing experience. Duties and Responsibilities:Leading and guiding a SAFE production environmentProduction Scheduling / planning / control of production processesThe correct quantities of the right product are produced to meet customer specificationsPreparing / reviewing and adjusting production schedulesBe cost effective - reduce waste generationPlanning resources (human and materials) based on production needsImplement strategies to improve on safety, reduce cost, reduce WIP, reduce cycle time etc.Coordination between different entities inside outside the organization. Build/foster relationsInventory ControlWIP reduction policies and strategiesSupply levels are maintained and accurateYear end Inventory requires minimal adjustmentsDevelop and maintain strict processes to ensure safety, quality and accuracyEmployee RelationsHiring - set the standard and expectationsCorrective actions - enforce and be consistent (lead by example)Termination - done for the right reason, be fair and consistentBuilding a positive relation with the team - will reduce the need for the above pointsBuild a culture of employee involvement - get buy-inBe available - communicateProviding resources to Production SupervisorsMentor and teach the supervisors you support on most (if not all) of the above itemsHold supervisors to a high standard of accountability for the shifts they overseeCoordinate with outside elements as required (customers, contractors, vendors, suppliers etc.Applies knowledge of processes, equipment and system capability to set challenging individual and facility standards within the plantAchieve performance standards with regards to safety, line utilization and qualityOversees and assures facility equipment reliability to minimize downtimeRequires superior organizational skills with proven ability to find improvements and efficienciesExcellent leadership, interpersonal skills, with a strong sense of urgency.
