They serve as general and bond counsel for districts such as water control and improvement districts, levee improvement districts, and municipal management districts.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site Paralegal role located in Houston, TX. The Paralegal will be responsible for legal document preparation, communication with clients and attorneys, conducting research, and reviewing legal documents.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare for and attend monthly Board of Director meetings.Prepare minutes and agendas for monthly Board of Director meetings.Prepare correspondence, agreements, regulatory documents and other legal documents for district assignments.Maintain communication with district consultants and other client communications.Prepare bond financing and refinancing documentation.Prepare and file documents with courts or online posting sites. Conduct legal research.Use legal software and databases to assist attorneys and clients. Assist with ensuring client deadlines are met.Knowledge and SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and act in proactive manner to mitigate future situations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.QualificationsAt least five (5) years experience as a Paralegal.Bachelors degree or certification in paralegal studies.Must have experience billing time.
