You will play a unique and important rolein our collaborative and creative team in our WESTERN REGION. You will lead theplanning and execution of consumer events, sponsorships, and other marketinginitiatives to help Modern Luxury stand apart in the industry. This role is an importantposition within the overall Modern Luxury marketing organization. Only candidates witha minimum of 5 years of marketing and events experience will be considered.Under the direction of the Western Region President, the Regional Marketing Directorwill lead the nine markets in the Western Region with two Marketing Coordinators andand a Marketing Manager. You will be responsible for the development and execution ofall marketing initiatives across the Modern Luxury Western Region portfolio ( LosAngeles, San Francisco, Hawaii, Aspen, Orange County, San Diego, Scottsdale, LasVegas and Silicon Valley). This includes conceiving and producing revenue generatingmarketing programs and events. The Regional Marketing Director will build relationshipswithin the market that will create opportunities for effective brand and clientpartnerships. The role encompasses integrated marketing, events and partnerships,and public relations. The Regional Marketing Director will also collaborate with the salesorganization to develop proposals, pitch and build relationships with clients and managespecial advertising sections in the magazine(s).EVENTSThe Regional Marketing Director will be responsible for providing the strategic vision forand leading the development of the annual experiential marketing planning andexecution in close partnership with the Western Region President. This position will leadthe planning and execution of 50+ experiential activations and media sponsorshipsannually across all Modern Luxury Western based brands.INTEGRATED MARKETINGThe Regional Marketing Director will collaborate with sales to ideate, generateproposals for and pitch compelling integrated programs and RFP responses for clientswhich include print, digital/social and experiential opportunities to close renewal andnew business for the company. Other duties may include partnering with marketing staffand sales to deliver added value initiatives (e.g. booking photographers, magazinedistribution as it relates to events, post-event coverage, etc) and leading/assisting withall in-book marketing promotions including About Towns, Top 5, Special Sections andmore.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in event planning, management andproduction, as well as integrated marketing and public relations with excellent projectmanagement skills in order to deliver programs on time and within budget.The candidate must be team-oriented, able to create a high-energy, positive, forward-thinking, efficient, and creative environment to generate new ideas and novel thinking.He or she must also have superior organization skills and demonstrate impeccableattention to detail in order to maintain the highest level of brand standards. The personwill also have proven leadership and problem solving skills as well as strong written andverbal communication skills. Must be customer service oriented with a calm andprofessional demeanor along with the ability to drive teamwork. This person must beadept in defining new processes and directing teams in new ways of thinking in order tomaximize efficiency and streamline resources. This person must be a leader with bothsuperior creative and analytical capabilities.This role is a unique and important position within Modern Luxury Media WesternRegion and will collaborate with various cross-functional teams within the Westernregion and across the organization.AREAS OF FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESï‚· Lead and oversee experiential marketing responsibilities, in close collaborationwith Market President and marketing staffï‚· Partner with Market President to establish strategic marketing vision allowingModern Luxury titles in the Western Region to create best-in-class consumerexperiences across experiential platforms to amplify and promote the ModernLuxury Media brand presence and narrative while maintaining brand guidelines.ï‚· Serve as the key day to day Marketing point person for the Western region basedsales organizationsï‚· Responsible for oversight of 50+ experiential activations annually across allWestern Region Modern Luxury Media brandsï‚· Serve as key point person/lead for tentpole events/partnerships.ï‚· Stay up-to-date with experiential industry best practices and monitor competitoractivity.ï‚· Partner with sales and marketing to ideate and generate proposals for integratedprograms including print, digital/social and experiential opportunitiesï‚· Partner with marketing staff and other cross-functional team members to planand execute integrated marketing programmingï‚· Partner with marketing staff to collaborate on other programming including all in-book marketing promotions (About Towns, Top 5, Special Sections)ï‚· Lead and manage two marketing coordnators and a marketing managerCollaboration & Communication:ï‚· Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including other marketing teamstaff, Publishers, Sales, Legal, Finance, Operations, Production, Design,Executive team, and other key departments as needed throughout the planningand execution process for marketing campaigns and events.ï‚· Be a steward of internal communications across the Marketing organization andWestern region.ï‚· Meet with national team monthly to review upcoming opportunities in the WesternRegion and help drive sponsorship sales from national clients.ï‚· Keep the national team informed of upcoming sponsorship opportunities for theirclients.Operations, Platforms, Tools/Guidelines:ï‚· Master Events Calendar: Own the maintenance of the current Master EventsCalendar for Western Region events and the P and L's for these eventsï‚· Planning Tools: Partner with Regional President and marketing staff to adhere toexperiential and other marketing planning tools (e.g. Experiential Playbook,Toolkits, Sell Sheets, Proposal Request Process, etc.).Revenue Optimization / P&L Process & Management:ï‚· Collaborate with the Marketing team to serve as Western RegionMarketing/Experiential subject matter expert and ideate unique and compellingexperiential and other marketing activations to generate proposals and securerenewal/new business opportunities.ï‚· Collaborate with Western Region Publishers to identify and showcase mostrelevant experiential opportunities for National and Local sales to maximizerevenue and net profit.ï‚· Identify market opportunities and uncover revenue growth channels by optimizingclient integration and sponsorship to ensure profitability of events programming.ï‚· Oversee development of all general marketing and experiential sell sheets, pitchmaterials and other sales collateral to bring activations to life and maximizerevenue opportunities.ï‚· Oversee P&L process and management across Western Region Modern Luxuryexperiential activations to ensure programs are delivered within budget and meetofficial event policy requirements.Partnerships:ï‚· Conduct research to identify, evaluate and select local partners to align with asneeded across experiential/marketing function.ï‚· Develop and maintain strong ongoing relationships with cultural institutions,charities, film/TV/cable studios, members-only clubs, publicists, etc. to createmeaningful and strategic corporate partnerships from an experiential marketingperspective, specific to the Western Region, which are mutually beneficial andalign with the Modern Luxury brand.ï‚· Partner with Western Region sales leadership to evaluate and secure synergisticmedia sponsorships and manage associated activations/obligations.PROFILE & EXPERIENCEï‚· Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Marketing)ï‚· A minimum of 5+ years of experience in experiential marketing/event planningand execution, preferably at a Publisher/Lifestyle brand or agency.ï‚· Understanding of and experience with omni channel marketingï‚· Must have a passion for experiential and producing best-in-class experiencesï‚· Knowledge of event management tools including Splash a plusï‚· Must be client service and detail orientedï‚· Superior project management skills with ability to multitask and work well in fast-paced environmentsï‚· Excellent communication, presentation and writing skillsï‚· Must possess superior interpersonal communication and organizational skillsï‚· Advanced knowledge of G-SuiteWe are an Equal
