Staff Software Engineer (GPU/Algorithm) - Ultrasound ImagingWe are seeking an experienced engineer with a strong background in ultrasound technology, medical image reconstruction, and programming languages such as C++ and CUDA to contribute to the development of a next-generation ultrasound imaging platform. In this role, you will focus on designing and optimizing algorithms for ultrasound signal processing, image formation, and analysis. The goal is to improve the quality, accuracy, and interpretability of ultrasound images for an innovative imaging system.**Develop advanced beamforming techniques to enhance spatial resolution and image quality in ultrasound scans.Design algorithms for image enhancement, noise reduction, edge detection, and speckle reduction in ultrasound images.Develop algorithms for reconstructing 2D or 3D images from acquired ultrasound data, including data interpolation, scan conversion, and geometric transformations.Design algorithms to extract relevant features and perform segmentation of structures or regions of interest in ultrasound images.Develop techniques to compensate for motion artifacts caused by patient movement or tissue motion during ultrasound scanning, including image registration, motion estimation, and correction algorithms.Explore the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance ultrasound image analysis, automate diagnosis, or assist in image interpretation tasks.Required **Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related fieldKnowledge of ultrasound physics, signal and image processing, beamforming, simulation, algorithm development, or tool creationStrong foundation in object-oriented programming, software architecture, and design patternsProficiency in C++ programmingExperience with concurrent and parallel programming, including multithreading, multiprocessing, and GPU acceleration (CUDA, CuPy, Numba, OpenCL, Halide) If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please apply and reach out to alex.wessel@
