Assistant Knitwear Designer

Our client, a luxury fashion brand, is seeking a temp Knitwear Designer to join their team on an ongoing basis. This will be onsite 5 days a week at their Anaheim HQ. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND **Provides creative and tactical support to execute needs of the knitwear design & development- accurate flat sketching by hand and/or digitally (Procreate or Illustrator)Create illustrations / color-ups of styles and looks when needed, Procreate or Photoshop preferredMaintain updated record of all sketches and Design Detail Sheet (DDS).Assists in developing inspiration/ concept/ mood boards of line development.Assist in creating artwork / layouts as neededServe as a liaison between design and cross functional teams ** knit development, design embellishment, technical, patternmaking, merchandising, and design purchasing.Trim research and style allocation-work with supervisors on researching new trims, responsible for trim selection for salesman samples, organization of trim design library, partner with trim purchasing on all aspects of the trim process.Communicates with technical team/ product development for updated design information.Participates in fittings to help with all required tasksAssists with preparation of design meetings to ensure all necessary items are present and ready prior to the beginning of the scheduled meetings.Research & Design into seasonal concepts as neededDemonstrates aesthetic taste level and artistic and creative understanding of luxury brandsEducation/*****1 - 3 years experience preferredA college-level degree in Knitwear Design, BFA strongly preferredKnitwear knowledge, understanding of machine & hand knittingExperience with a luxury women's brandApparel technical, knitwear garment construction backgroundProficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite ( Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign etc), ProcreatePlease submit an updated resume for consideration!You can use WorkGrades to collect and manage your references for free and share them with us or anyone else you choose by visiting /home/candidate.
