The Machine Set Up & Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating multiple machines within the Sealing Rings Department to manufacture piston rings. Role Responsibilities include and are not limited to:Machine set up and operationAbility to understand verbal and written instructionsAbility to read and understand blueprints, sketches and process sheetsUtilize gages and tooling within the department for set ups and operationsAbility to make fixtures as neededAssist with experimental production and trial production parts for engineeringAbility to use calipers and micrometers on a daily basisConfidence in working within tight tolerances per production routersAssist others in developing methods and proceduresSet-up machines for General OperatorsMay be required to wash rings and dip in protective coatingPerform preventative maintenance function within work cellFollow all plant safety rules and proceduresFollow all 5S and Lean manufacturing principles Communicate with department lead and supervisor on regular basis Use of a variety of instruments and tools such as face grinder, mills, manual lathe, internal grinder and outside diameter grinder, micrometer/caliper, etc. Job Requirements:High School Diploma or GED requiredRequires continuous attention to operationsAttention to detailManufacturing operator experience a plusFlexibility with work hours during training periodAbility to stand for 8-hours per day, 5-days per weekAbility to life 35-pounds (anything over 35-pounds will use lift assist or team lift)All hourly employees will be part of the United Steelworkers Union (USW) What You'll Love About SKF: Rest and Relaxation.
