Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Platform Electrical Engineer-ASICLocation: Cupertino, CASalary: 250K-300K+Skills: Signal Integrity, PCB, Accelerator Systems, Board Bring-up, 100G EthernetAbout Company / Opportunity:We are building AI chips that are hard-coded for individual model architectures. Our first product (Sohu) only supports transformers, but has an order of magnitude more throughput and lower latency than a B200. With Etched ASICs, you can build products that would be impossible with GPUs, like real-time video generation models and extremely deep chain-of-thought reasoning. We are looking for exceptional hardware system engineers to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for schematic design for our accelerator module, and will help us pave the way for manufacturing scale.We think most of the progress in the AI field has come from using more FLOPs to train and run models, and the best way to get more FLOPs is to build model-specific hardware. Larger and larger training runs encourage companies to consolidate around fewer model architectures, which creates a market for single-model ASICs.We are a fully in-person team in Cupertino, and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both as needed.Responsibilities:Lead schematic design of the mezzanine card and base board for our accelerator systemsWork with Signal Integrity, PCB, and Mechanical Engineering to solve system level design problemsCollaborate with ODMs/OEMs on system requirements, including bring-up and validation plansUnderstand datacenter customer requirements and ensure our servers meet themBring up of system base board and mezzanine cardCreate and manage PCBA documentation including BOMs and special assembly processesDefine test plans and test equipment for bring-up and manufacturingMust-Have Skills:5-10 years of experience in complex server/switch system design and developmentExtensive experience on 100G Ethernet, PCIe Gen5, I2C, SPI, UART interfacesFamiliar with modern AI/datacenter system architectureProven track record of designing systems alongside siliconDeep understanding of datacenter needs, especially with respect to high power (>10 kW) AI serversPassionate about modern AIs like ChatGPT, and willing to learn about them on the job*****Amazing Stock Option Packages!!!Full medical, dental, and vision packages, with 100% of premium covered, 90% for dependentsHousing subsidy of $2,000/month for those living within walking distance of the officeDaily lunch and dinner in our officeRelocation support for those moving to Cupertino
