We can't wait for the right candidate to join us at Kearney Electric.Job **This position is responsible for providing financial budgets and estimates to profitably win bids on electrical construction or design projects. The incumbent oversees the estimating function for the electrical division and selects which projects will be estimated. The incumbent manages the preparation of cost estimates for electrical projects in a diverse array of sectors. Strong written and verbal communication skills are utilized to effectively interact across all divisions of the company as well as with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.Reports * Director Level* Estimating Team for the Electrical DivisionSummary Duties & *Lead the estimating and pursuit activities, deciding which projects to estimate.Apply broad knowledge and seasoned judgment to create cost-effective solutions.Manage and lead an estimating team and coach and develop team members to achieve their full potential.Generate accurate and well-organized estimates from provided documents promptly. Work closely with management to determine appropriate pricing to win work. Manage the bid schedule and ensure deadlines are met.Try innovative approaches and implement new ideas to improve job quality, productivity, and profitability.Qualifications & Experience ****10 years of experience in estimating leadership with at least 5 or more years of emphasis on electrical construction projects.A bachelors degree in engineering, technical or construction management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.Proven record of successful bids and project awards of $10 million or more.Proficiency in McCormick estimating software and familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, and Excel.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications and understand complex project deliverables via project bids.Ability to analyze project plans and specifications to create comprehensive cost estimates.Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations.The ability to break down construction operations into a logical sequence of activities and provide cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services required for a complete project.Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong attention to detail.Strong communication and people skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients are required.Quick creative thinking and the capability to meet deadlines.
