Our client is currently seeking a Maintenance Manager for their manufacturing facility in northern Indiana.Primary Responsibilities:Lead, coach, and manage a team of 45+ FT team members across 3 shifts Ensure the safe execution of all maintenance and utility activities, adhering to all safety procedures.Promote safety as the top priority for all employees and contractors, fostering a safe work environment through personal behavior.Maintain the facility and assets to comply with regulatory guidelines (e.g., USDA, FDA, OSHA, EPA).Optimize costs through effective budget planning and management, focusing on asset management and minimizing loss and waste.Enhance the availability and safe operation of production assets through predictive and preventative maintenance, and effective execution of corrective maintenance and projects.Coordinate major maintenance and project requirements with manufacturing production and engineering, including major downtime activities and periods, and support the development of the Plant's Capital Budget.Train maintenance staff on effective maintenance practices, including the use of computerized maintenance management systems, problem-solving tools, risk and failure analysis, maintenance scheduling, and analysis of maintenance-related data and equipment histories.Set and evaluate departmental goals and objectives in collaboration with maintenance departmental supervision, factory leadership team, Regional Reliability Managers, and the Engineering Manager.Conduct special studies to improve departmental services, equipment reliability, and factory operations or to meet external requirements.Direct the operation and maintenance of Utilities (Air, Steam, Water, Nitrogen, Ammonia, etc.) and Wastewater facilities to meet production demands.Share Best Maintenance Practices with other maintenance professionals by participating in semi-annual forums and establishing regular communication contacts.Ensure parts availability in the MRO stockroom to minimize equipment downtime while balancing economic maintenance inventory management.Assist in evaluating reliability, utility, facility, production, and packaging needs for Capital Equipment.Oversee and lead the implementation of the Quality Risk Management Process (QRMP) system and operational standards as outlined in the factory's QRMP accountability list.Partner with business leaders on implementing equipment and manufacturing reliability, process improvements (Six Sigma/Lean), including leading change initiatives, planning, and facilitating improvement project completion.Manage and evaluate the Maintenance staff, including performance management, employee improvement, and development plans.Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager to support the facility.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree preferred..Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment required.5+ years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment required.Extensive knowledge in areas such as Packaging/Mechanical Operations, Electrical maintenance, Instrumentation, Electronics/Controls, and Utility Systems, including boiler and ammonia refrigeration.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to motivate, empower, train, direct, lead, evaluate, and coach a diverse team to reach their full potential.Ability to effectively plan and manage change within large enterprise organizations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS required.Ability to manage a continuous operation (24 hours, 7 days per week).
