If youre a specialty chemicals sales manager who knows that MMA has nothing to do with an octagon and youre looking to advance your career, read on...CompanyPrivately owned international specialty chemical trading and distribution firm that values people, processes, and performanceThey've been in business for many decades and have grown tremendously over the last few yearsThey have a very strong presence coast to coast and globally as wellThe owners are committed to growing the company for many years to comePositionThis firm is looking for an experienced hands-on sales manager to coach and mentor a group of account managersThis person is responsible for the development, execution and management of the companys domestic sales strategiesThis persons group will be responsible for the marketing and sale of bulk commodity chemicals to existing and prospective customers nationwideOwns and sets account plans/goals/priorities for account managers, both short and long-termManages and owns the overall commercial relationship with key customers and is the "face" of the firm to themThe position requires the successful candidate to spend one or two days a week in the firms North Houston officesThis position requires about 35% overnight domestic travel, but that can vary greatly from month to monthQualificationsSix or more years of chemical sales experience is requiredPrior sales management experience in the chemical sales space is requiredChemical distribution sales experience is highly preferredA four-year bachelors degree is preferred (chemical engineering or chemistry degrees are highly preferred)The company greatly values intellectual curiosityStrong interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
