Controls Engineer

Our client, a leader in the processing equipment industry is seeking a Controls Engineer for their growing facility in the greater Raleigh area!The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical control systems for machinery. This position encompasses responsibilities such as electrical design, component selection, PLC and Motion Control programming, as well as testing and debugging equipment before shipment. Some client visits on-site may be required (travel 10-25%).**Design electrical cabinets and select components to ensure optimal performance and reliability of food packaging equipment.Develop PLC and Motion Control programs to regulate the operation of machinery, focusing on efficiency and precision.Test and debug equipment thoroughly prior to shipment, ensuring that all systems function flawlessly upon delivery.Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to address technical inquiries and provide support for installations.Complete commissioning checklists to certify the readiness of machines for deployment in various operational settings.Provide ongoing support to the Service Team by assisting with remote troubleshooting and problem resolution.Offer guidance and assistance to the Materials Team regarding electrical component procurement and support.Continuously identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in electrical control systems to enhance overall performance and customer satisfaction.**Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Hands-on troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication skills.Proficiency in PLC and Motion Control programming, testing, and debugging.Experience in electrical design and layout, including power distribution and sensors.Familiarity with AutoCad Electrical or Solidworks Electrical.Knowledge of ERP systems.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%).
