Construction ManagerAthletic Facilities ConstructionLocation: Birmingham, ALSalary: $80,000 - $90,000 based on experience + yearly bonus based on company performanceBenefits: PTO, 401(k), meal per diem, monthly car allowance, gas reimbursement, and travel accommodations.About HE Hodge Company:H.E. With over 50 years of experience, our team specializes in planning, engineering, and project management, working collaboratively to exceed customer expectations and provide reliable, efficient solutions for institutional facilities.Position OverviewThe Construction Manager will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, execution, and completion of athletic facility construction projects. This role requires a strong background in construction management, the ability to lead diverse teams, and a thorough understanding of the unique demands of sports facility construction. The Construction Manager will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to the highest standards of safety and quality.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Oversight: Manage and oversee all phases of construction, including pre-construction planning, site preparation, scheduling, and resource allocation.Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of subcontractors, project engineers, field staff, and laborers to ensure efficient execution of all construction activities.Budget and Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to stay on target.Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, budget, and any issues that arise.Quality Control: Ensure the quality of work meets industry standards and client expectations. Conduct regular site inspections and coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure compliance with specifications.Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols and regulations on-site to maintain a safe working environment. Address safety concerns promptly and lead safety training efforts.Problem Resolution: Identify potential issues or risks early and implement solutions to prevent delays or cost overruns. Resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise on the project.Documentation: Maintain detailed project records, including RFIs, change orders, progress reports, and inspection reports.Subcontractor and Vendor Coordination: Work closely with subcontractors and vendors to ensure materials and services are provided on time and meet the required standards.QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction management, specifically in the athletic facility or sports construction sector.Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent work experience).Certifications: PMP, CCM, or equivalent construction management certification preferred.Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and other relevant construction management software.Strong Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and managing construction teams. Ability to motivate and inspire project teams to achieve goals.Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and team members.Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and creatively to resolve construction-related challenges.Attention to Detail: Strong focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively to project sites.Physical RequirementsAbility to visit and navigate construction sites, including standing, walking, and climbing.Ability to lift or move materials as needed, up to 50 lbs.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary, based on experience.401(k) with company match.Paid time off and holidays.Yearly bonus.Why Join Us?At H.E.
