Project Manager

Collier Engineering is seeking an experienced Civil-Site Project Manager (with a P.E. license) to help lead our Civil-Site Design Department and further grow the department to align with Collier Engineering's Vision of improving Tennessee communities. We are looking for a driven individual with a background in general civil-site design to oversee various projects in the civil engineering industry for public and private clients. Projects will include roadway construction and land development (residential, commercial, and mixed-use) projects.The successful candidate will have experience with AutoDesk Civil3D, demonstrate reliability, make judgment calls independently, take ownership of assigned tasks, and be team-oriented.Desired Skills and Experience5+ years of relevant experience preferred.Experience managing a multi-discipline / multi-company design team while ensuring the project comes in on time and under budget. Managing budgets, schedules, and deliverables to distribute to the project team and clients as necessaryLeadership skills to lead a design team from inception through contract documents and construction administration to final inspection and acceptanceWritten and oral communication skills to coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staffKnowledge and experience ensuring project compliance with regulations, permits, and environmental restrictionsExperience with quality control/quality assurance reviews to analyze coordinated sets of project plans and report deviations from plans and specifications to client, subcontractor, and/or supervisorKnowledge of construction techniques, design, TDOT / Metro / Development specifications, construction documents, and project processes. Familiarity with standard operations, policies, and procedures within the A / E industry. Ability to learn on the job.Have a can do attitude and ability to get in and figure things out with little or no guidance from othersMentorship skills to create a dynamic learning environmentAbility to demonstrate good interpersonal skills with management experienceA continuous improvement and problem-solving mindsetThis position will require effective communication skills to coordinate the production of project tasks and present deliverables to clients and vendors as applicable. The ideal candidate will be looking to take ownership and pride in tasks assigned with a team-oriented, positive attitude.Minimum Qualifications:B.S. in Civil Engineering with TN Professional Engineering license5+ years of experience (minimum) on a varied background of projects, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, campus / institutional, and public works requiredPhysical demands require frequent walking, standing, and stooping throughout each dayWorking environment includes outdoors, exposure to environmental elements, and working in high-traffic areasKnowledge of Microsoft Office applications.Clear verbal and written communication skillsFlexible work schedule and ability to meet project deadlinesValid Driver's LicenseAbility to qualify for insurance through our Fleet ProgramMust be authorized to work for ANY employer in the US.
