We are currently seeking a qualified Electrical Controls Engineer to join our client's organization and contribute to their ongoing success.Job summaryThe PSS Engineering department provides project, site and integration engineering services using DeltaV distributed control system and other PLCs. The Electrical Controls Engineer will work in a team environment on automation projects for installed-base customers both in the office and at customer sites.Responsibilities:Engineer, implement, test and commission control panels for batch and continuous control applications in the food, chemical and oil & gas industries using Emersons DeltaV control systemProvide electrical and hardware engineering support to panel design teamUnderstand project scope, schedule, budget and quality expectations, and develop solutions to meet customer needsProvide technical support for Project Management and Sales teamsDevelop high quality, well-tested and documented hardware designs to meet customer specifications, including:o Functional Requirement Definitiono I/O Definitiono Control Panel Designo Control Strategieso System/Network Architectureo Third Party InterfacesConduct integrated system testingReplace obsolete customer control systems with Emerson solutions, which includes:o Assessment of existing hardware and instrumentationo Specification and engineering of Emerson hardwareo System design and implementationSupport and coordinate Factory Acceptance/Site TestsPerform startup and commissioning functions for projects at customer sites, which include:o Construction Managemento Loop Checkso Configuration Integration with functional/failure checkso Integration of Third-Party Devices/Productso Loop TuningRequirements:Process control experience or related controls or automation experienceHas hands-on knowledge of current distributed control systems (DCS/PLC); emphasis will be placed on skills related to Emersons DeltaVHas demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and can think logically and systematicallyCan effectively read P&IDs, datasheets and electrical drawingsWill be able to configure instrumentation and valvesWill be able to program variable frequency drives.Will have a knowledge of and ability to apply NEC, NFPA, ISA, IEC, API and UL codes and standardsMust have the ability to work independently and within a team environmentMust have the ability to manage multiple projects and assignmentsMust have strong communication and customer facing abilitiesMust have an enthusiasm for learning new concepts and developing new skillsAt OpenArc, we prioritize your career success and strive to build exceptional technical teams for our clients.
