Summary:The Quality Inspector I is responsible for performing basic inspections on incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer specifications. This entry-level position is focused on following company procedures, recording inspection data, and identifying potential non conformances. The role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work closely with production teams to ensure product quality. This position is ideal for individuals looking to begin a career in the medical device industry, with opportunities for growth into more advanced inspection and quality roles.Rate: $18-20/HRSkills, experience, and other compensable factors will be taken into account when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting is a reflection of a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.Duration: 3 months - helping with backlog / potential extensionResponsibilities:• Conduct basic visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products• Maintain a positive and professional presence while representing quality assurance with production teams• Verify conformance to specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges• Document inspection results and any defects / non-conformances detected• Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics at a basic level• Follow company procedures to perform routine quality checks• Maintain inspection records and files for traceability and compliance• Ensure that inspection equipment is calibrated and properly maintained before use• Assist with the identification of non-conforming products and initiate corrective actions under supervision• Work with production teams to identify potential areas for improvement and support quality improvement initiatives• Participate in routine training to develop knowledge of quality systems and inspection techniquesKnowledge & Skills:• Basic knowledge of inspection tools and measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.)• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects• Good communication skills to document and report inspection results• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment• Ability to follow instructions and company procedures• Average skill in Microsoft Office, entering data accurately and repeatablyEducation & Experience:• High school diploma or GED• Strong math skills to work with fractions and decimals in the imperial and metric measurement systems• Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment is a plus, but not requiredWork Environment:• Workers situated in an office environment could routinely use standard office equipment which may include computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines• Workers exposed to the production floor could be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, and moderate to loud noise conditions• Well lighted, heated/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation• Ability to meet safety, regulatory and health guidelines without assistance• Ability to maneuver throughout the facility/facilities as needed• Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)• Ability to perform repetitive work• Standing; walking; manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers• Ability to bend and kneel, loading and unloading work pieces into the machine or moving from one workstation to another; must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
