Job ***** Trade Application Support Engineer** 200-500k total comp, candidate dependent.Work * in office, midtown Manhattan**** A successful hedge fund is looking for an accomplished application support engineer to join their electronic trade team. You will be scripting in Python to create automation and make trading more efficient. You will also troubleshoot their trading applications. ***** Provide L1 and L2 support for Front Office staff (Traders, Investment Professionals) to quickly identify and resolve issues as they arise and ensure continuity of the business. Gather business requirements and liaise with various IT teams to ensure delivery of functionality.User / strategy application support Assist in the deployment, checkout, and QA testing of applications. System support & SOD/intraday health checks.Work closely with the back office teams to remedy issues related to security setups, trade booking, corporate actions, price breaks, and book keeping entries. ***** Experience supporting trading systems within the finance industry · Experience with Unix, Linux · Experience with databases such as Sybase or SQL · Proficiency in Python and shell scripting language · Deep understanding of trading workflows and the ability to troubleshoot breaksFIX protocol knowledgeExperience with incident management, problem solving outages and breaks · Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical colleagues Bachelors Degree in engineering or computer science or related field of studyDesired Skills and Experiencetrade support support engineerpythonsqlkdbc++application supportproduction support trade OMS trading systems equitiesderivatives
