Architectural ProfessionalLong Term ContractHouston, TX 77001SummaryPlans and conducts work within a global business unit requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, application, adaptation and modification of standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises new approaches to solving problems encountered.ResponsibilitiesPlans architectural layout, prepares detailed architectural design and layout drawings for small buildings and portions of major buildings.Prepares specifications and related documents.Prepares building material interface details for review by senior personnel.Prepares architectural designs and construction drawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics and architectural models.Coordinates work and collaborates with other project engineering disciplines. Review design drawings and documents submitted by suppliers and subcontractors for compliance with architectural and engineering requirements.Participates in studies that require knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in architectural work.Assists in on-the-job training and development of people assigned.Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders.Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.Evaluates, selects applicable procedures and criteria, and applies standard architectural presentation techniques, using independent judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.Performs assignments that have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for architectural discipline within a global business unit.Performs architectural tasks having some degree of complexity.Reviews and recommends approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements.Knowledge and understanding of roles played by other disciplines on the project.Familiarity with all Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs) and their application to projects.Knowledge of design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) applicable to the discipline.Required9 Years of Project Design experiencePlans architectural layout, prepares detailed architectural design and layout drawings for small buildings and portions of major buildings.Prepares building material interface details for review by senior personnel.Prepares architectural designs and construction drawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics and architectural models.Coordinates work and collaborates with other project engineering disciplines.
